A Collaboration Between Adult Protective Services and Forensic Accounting Examiners to Investigate Complex Financial Exploitation: Formative Evaluation Findings

This presentation covers the development, implementation, and evaluation outcomes of a collaboration between Adult Protective Services and Forensic Accountants. Through this collaboration, the FEIST (Financial Exploitation Investigation Suite of Tools) was created and designed to enhance data collection, support case finding determinations, and enhance reporting to law enforcement Strategies, challenges, successes, and next steps will be discussed.

- FIEST: The Financial Exploitation Investigation Suite of Tools or FIEST is used by field staff to determine if a referral for forensic accounting is necessary. It may also be used when not referring, but is not required.
