Laurel will share insights into some of the challenges facing financial institutions in the complex world of transnational frauds/scams. She will share information on some of the best practices she has learned and implemented to protect client accounts of those victimized in these frauds. She will share insights into the difficulties encountered in trying to assist those chronically revictimized, given the legal constraints on what financial institutions can often do. She will also briefly cover some of the regulations impacting what financial institutions can and cannot do. And she will offer tips on best protective practices such as ‘trusted contacts’, and limitations on that in some cases.
