NAPSA Monthly Scam Webinar
Time Share Fraud
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 23, 2025
Description:
Steve Baker will take the lead in discussing timeshare frauds. Nearly ten million people in the US own a timeshare, and older people often do not want to pay the yearly fees or can no longer travel.
There are two different frauds that concentrate on those who would like to get out of these timeshares. First, there are criminal gangs that call owners, claim to have a buyer, but need money for “closing costs” that will supposedly be returned at closing. But there is no buyer; this is simply theft. Much of this involves timeshares in Mexico, and are run by organized crime.
Second, there are operations that offer services to sell timeshares. Often these advertise heavily on radio. But they employ a variety of false claims and often go out of business after taking money from thousands.
This program will discuss both types of fraud and how we can help avoid the scams.
